Non-malignant enlargement of the prostate or BPH can cause a number of symptoms apart from problems with urination. The most common symptoms that arise include
1.Frequency: The need to urinate more often; nocturia is the complaint of getting up at night to void.
2.Urgency: A sudden, strong urge to urinate.
3.Weak stream: A decrease in the force of the stream of urine.
4.Difficulty Initiating Urination: Difficulty in starting the passage of urine, or it starts later than usual.
5.Dribbling: leakage of urine after one feels they have finished urinating.
6.Inability to Empty the Bladder: Feeling at the end of urinating that the bladder is not empty.
7.Blood in urine
8.Burning or pain while passing urine
9.Getting up often at night to pass urines
10.Sometimes complete retention with inability to pass urine
